An Australian ventriloquist visiting New Zealand, walks into the village and sees a local sitting on his porch patting his dog. He figures he’ll have a little fun.


Ventriloquist: “G’day Mate! Good looking dog, mind if I speak to him?”
Villager: “The dog doesn’t talk, you stupid Aussie.”
Ventriloquist: “Hello dog, how’s it going mate?”
Dog: “Doin’ all right.”
Villager: (look of extreme shock)
Ventriloquist: “Is this villager your owner?” (pointing at the villager)
Dog: “Yes”
Ventriloquist: “How does he treat you?”
Dog: “Real good. He walks me twice a day, feeds me great food and takes me to the lake once a week to play.”
Villager: (look of utter disbelief)
Ventriloquist: “Mind if I talk to your horse?”
Villager: “Uh, the horse doesn’t talk either….I think.”
Ventriloquist: “Hey horse, how’s it going?”
Horse: “Cool”
Villager: (absolutely dumbfounded)
Ventriloquist: “Is this your owner?” (pointing at the villager)
Horse: “Yep”
Ventriloquist: “How does he treat you?”
Horse: “Pretty good, thanks for asking. He rides me regularly, brushes me down often and keeps me in the barn to protect me from the elements.”
Villager: (total look of amazement)
Ventriloquist: “Mind if I talk to your sheep?”
Villager: “The sheep’s a liar!”

Poem: I am

Everyone always goes crazy,

Buying chocolates and flowers,

Pretty roses blossom everywhere,

But all I do is stare.

All throughout the day I sit here,

Watching people hug and kiss,

For them its total bliss.

But like a billboard showing ads,

The doubt shows on my face,

Love can't be all that,

But strangers prove me wrong.

So I sit here on this bench,

And I stare as people walk away,

How can people go berserk,

Over Valentines Day?

La Roux

Some of you have maybe heard of La Roux, a new group from England. The group is made up of Elly, the singer, and Ben, the musician. This group offers a sort of fresh, techno, electronic kind of sound. The hit song, Bulletproof, is a song about coming out of a relationship and knowing you will be invinsible or at least "bulletproof."

Acosadores

Alguno de ustedes han sido intimidados? Mucha gente se ha visto acosado o molestado en un momento u otra en la vida, aunque la gente no quiera admitirlo. Algunos niños pueden estar avergonzados de que dejaron a alguien que los manden como si fueran su jefe. La verdad es que no hay nada de que avergonsarce. Personalmente, yo creo que la gente es cruel con los demas porque les gusta. No porque "no se sienten seguros de si mismos". Pero como yo no lo se por seguro, solo es opinion. Cuando pienso de la palabra "acosador", me imagino a un chico grande que da miedo, pero en realidad puede ser niño o niña, grande o chico y joven o viejo. Ellos le pueden acosar de muchas maneras. No se cual es la técnica adecuada para que no sigan esos peleoneros acosando gente. Supongo que en realidad no hay una manera correcta. Tal vez todos son diferentes y por lo tanto responden a algo en diferentes maneras. Y es lo mismo a los que son acosados. Puede ser que algunos lo descarten, mientras otros lo toman más en serio. Los que lo tomen más en serio son mas propensos a cometer suicidio porque se sienten odiados, no amados y sin valor. Creo que cuando esto sucede, el agresor debe pagar por gastos medicos de cuando hay daño fisico y todo lo demas. Es algo más o menos lo mismo que matar a esa persona, solo que más lento y más doloroso. No sé porque la gente se burla de los demas. Hay que pensar dos veces antes de hacer algo asi. Quisiera ser culpable por la muerte de alguien?

Bullying

Have of you guys been bullied? Lots of people have been bullied or teased at one point or another, although people may not want to admit it. Some kids might be ashamed that they let others boss them around. Others might be embarrased about it. Truth is, theres nothing to be embarassed or ashamed about. Personally I think bullies tease people just because they like it and the"bullies are insecure" thing is BS. But since I can't prove that, it doesnt count. When I think of the word "bully" I picture a big, tall kid thats scary looking but I know that its not always like that. It can be a sibling, person younger than you, or just anybody. They can harass you in many types of ways. I don't know what the right technique to shoo away a bully is. I guess there's really no RIGHT technique. Maybe everyones different and therefore respond to something differently. Which goes the same way for the bullied. Some might blow it off and others take it more personally. Those who take it more personally are more likely to commit suicide from feeling unwanted, unloved, and worthless. I think when that happens the bully should pay for medical bills. Its pretty much the same as murdering that person, only its slower and more painful. I don't know why people tease others. They should think twice before doing something like that. Would you want a person's death on your hands?

Crítica del libro "Crank de Ellen Hopkins"

Acabo de leer el libro "Crank de Ellen Hopkins" y me parecio muy profundo. Sugiero este libro a aquellas personas que les guste leer poesia o a quienes les guste un tipo de lectura mas complicado y en un nivel mas de adultos, podria decirse. Este libro se trata de una niña que se llama Kristina, a quien tiene un hábito con drogas, igual que su padre. Sus padres se divorciaron por el problema de su padre. En un viaje de verano con su padre, Kristina desarrolló el hábito por las drogas. Ademas de eso, Kristina encuentra una relacion y aceptacion de sus amigos. Conforme vas leyendo, Kristina, o Bree, hace malas decisiones.
Este libro saca el coraje, lastima y tristeza. Hace que aprecien la vida y hace que piensen dos veces en involucrarse en las drogas.

Crank by Ellen Hopkins Review

So I just finished reading the book Crank by Ellen Hopkins. It was really deep. I only suggest this book to people who like poetry or who like "reading between the lines" and people who like to and can read mature content.This book is about a girl named Kristina with a nasty meth habit(hence the title, Crank). Her father and mother got divorced because her dad has the same problem. On a summer trip to her dad, Kristina develops the habit. Also, she finds acceptance and a summer fling. As you go through the book, you'll find that Kristina/ Bree makes a lot of bad choices.
This book brings out anger, sympathy, and sadness in the reader. It makes you appreciate your life and makes you think twice about developing habits.
